Reactivate MC number versus a new MC number

    Yes it was voluntarily deactivated because my dad decided to lease onto XPO LOGISTICS INTERMODAL. So I am looking to go 100% independent.

    What am I missing? It would still be in your Dads name. I imagine you could transfer Ownership.

    I thought if it wasn’t activated within a certain time, like 3 mos. it was automatically revoked.

    Just get your own new one. I reactivated mine after a 10 year hiatus. Everything took probably 10 times longer to get information corrected. Getting KYU reactivated tool two days of phone calls and emails vs a 5 min online application. RMIS software doesn’t care if your DOT# starts with 107 or 307xxxx it only cares about the last activation date. Knowing what I do now, I would have just applied for a new MC/DOT
