I was running teams with LCT. Lester Coggins Trucking AKA Super Service AKA MIchagin Trucking..
This is what my co driver did to our truck. I just finished driving my shift when num nuts didnt read any of the 9 signs and hit this overpass in WI # about 30mph. He had about 6 month exp. This was in March 2010.
I was in the jump seat finishing up my paperwork when the driver said i think i am going the wrong way.. (nothing new there) he said i am going to turn around, he took a ramp I looked down at my Logbook and WHAM!!! I opened my eyes to see the under side of the bridge and the traffic above rocking the truck.
Get into a habit of calling out those signs after you pass one...
Wisconsin PD said this bridge has been hit over 600 times.. DOT didnt even come out to the scene..
13'6, not even close

Dang it did this go against you with the company

Driver got fired I went on workmans comp. I wanted to get well and get back on the road.. They made it so hard for me, they were treating me as if i was in the drivers seat. Two months after the accident and little to no treatment I had to hire an attorney..
They don't even have coverage on the drivers as far as the truck insurance goes..
nothing goes against me, i just can't drive for them anymore.. It was hell and i hope no one ever has to go through this.. -
driver was ticketed for failure to obey a traffic control device = 3 points
-
The marks on the pass looks like its been hit 600 times.
How's your DAC? -
My DL is clean, no tickets in 11 years -
That's good then. I was afraid since you don't drive for them now, they'd pull something.

thelastamericanhippy Thanks this.

OUCH! I guess his career is done. Definitely a preventable accident. You are lucky you did not get a ticket for being off duty in the passenger seat. I've got one for that before. Sorry about your dilemma. Attorney is definitely going to be your best route. Good luck to you!
I hope you new drivers read this and adhere!
