School then to water tanker driving

Hey folks I'm new here trying to catch my bearings, Ill be going to school for my CDL, then on to drive water tanker in the lol field. I've never driven anything but my rather in laws dodge with a 28 ft fema trailer on the back of... which I guess is good since I didn't wreck! At any rate, I'm a newbie in every since if the term, let's just say I've never worn jeans to a job except on "casual fridays"!!! Going to school in New Mexico, seems like going to basic training all over again and driving water tanker ...I think I just learned what fracking was a few weeks ago.. any advice certainly would be welcome, I'm a fish out of water, wait no fish can swim how about a rock in water...yeah
A few questions to get me going...

What is driving a water tanker like?
How far will I most likely have to travel in between pick up and drop off of water
What to be really careful of?
How hectic of a learning environment is the shale? Will I be stressed into making a mistake?

    Thanks,

Waited 30 years to blow that dadgum airhorn!!!

What is driving a water tanker like?
No idea. But I imagine the water can slosh you to new directions other than your intended.

How far will I most likely have to travel in between pick up and drop off of water
    No idea.
Just a guess... between 1 and 2500 miles.

What to be really careful of?
    4-wheelies, and tight corners.
    Off-ramps, especially.

How hectic of a learning environment is the shale?
    Probably more than most.

Will I be stressed into making a mistake?
Only if you let yourself be.

I see that you're relatively new here. There's this thing up there at the top right corner of the page with the word 'Search' in it. You type things in the white box to the left of it (like 'texas' and 'oil' and 'tanker'), then click the search button. Magically, you will then find answers to your questions that have already been asked by someone else!

    Welcome to TTR :)

A water tanker or a vac trailer? Two different animals. Tanker provides surge and loads on top or side. Vac trailers load on the back. Two trailers, two very different jobs.

How far will I most likely have to travel in between pick up and drop off of water?
If you're working the oil fields, somewhere between ten and 120 miles each way.

What to be really careful of?
Lease roads. ####### dispatchers. Your hours and your weight (that CDL of yours is your golden ticket to guard... the company doesn't give a flying screw, you're JUST another driver to them). Management that doesn't give a rip about your safety. Ya know, like every trucking company. To stress the point again, you as a driver are just another floozie to the pimp. If you screw up and wreck your CDL, they dump you to keep their insurance company happy. But YOU'RE screwed for YEARS, and good luck finding another CDL job anytime soon with a scarred record.

How hectic of a learning environment is the shale?
Overwhelming to newbies for a month, you'll be comfortable in three and competent in six.

Will I be stressed into making a mistake?
Only if you let them push you. Don't. Set the line and if they don't like you watching out for yourself you can find another company. That's reality.

Tanker can't be much different than swinging meat... just break early and go really easy on your speed in turns stay under whatever a posted ramp speed is.

I've seen swinging loads laid over making a left turn in a 30 mph speed zone.

So as the liquid sways obviously I can't til it comes to a complete stop but just enough to get gravity back on my side I assume, what about the disposal tanks, and draining the water from frac sites what kinda set up will that be? You get.in truck...do.pre trip....drive over to fuel up...then what? Just trying to get a typical day in the life of a waterhauler
