Maybe he'll run a 1999 or older truck so he'll be exempt. Not everyone will be using the digital slave master you know.Last edited: Sep 16, 2017

Absolute rubbish. Tell this to somebody who has not talked to a broker because this is fantasy.Ima noob Thanks this.

I've put the band back together and am looking at Truckstop myself. I will give them a couple of months but if it doesn't produce and quickly I will ditch it in favor of DAT.

Good information and I agree with much of it. I too used CH for the bulk of my loads in my first year. I am looking for a new contact there right now. I have a good contact at Coyote. I know nothing of Convoy. Never heard of them, something to research. At one year I started applying at trucking companies direct. Western Express, JB, etc.
This stuff about not bothering if you only have one truck though is completely against my experience. If you want a problem then lease on to somebody. I am separating from someone now. Despite being told on Monday - and them agreeing - to cancel insurance sure as eggs on Friday what do I see. Yep insurance taken out. A problem with a brokerage (nothing to do with me) resulted in $400 being whipped out the week before. I find 2 of my own loads they still charge me 18%. Fuel surcharge?? 18% !
It is better to deal with Arkansas property tax and UCR than it is to give money away or worse still have somebody in the middle. A factor - yes. CH direct - yes. Coyote direct - yes.
A pissant trucking company charging you 18% for load finding? Not on a bet. -
Yes, I also do not think it is as bad a problem as is made out sometimes. However I have run into a problem with this just not very much. I made a living for sure as a new authority.

If you call a broker and he says $1500 and you say $3000 the next noise you will hear is a click. They will not even speak to you any further because you are a time waster.
FEMA loads can be good. They can also tie your trailer up for days at $100 a day. I was offered a $5000 load for Houston. Really good money per mile. Then they wanted me to sit for up to a month @ $100 a day until unloaded. At least the broker was honest with me. He said you could rent a trailer for $25 a day and come out $75 a day ahead. Complete fantasy. -
BS. I quote double what they offer a lot. I have an email from TQL where they offered $1,500 last week and my counter was $3,000 which they paid. Would you like to see it?scythe08, Tug Toy, JimmyWells and 2 others Thank this.

Yes, I have called so many brokers and quoted my rate not what they offer. The answer is usually no. They will go maybe up a hundred or so but that is it. Would you like to see one?

You're calling them. You are starting from a position of weakness.Oldironfan, BoostedTeg, JimmyWells and 2 others Thank this.
