Here are my pay checks with Schneider Bulk division. The top 3 pay checks are from when I went solo ( 7/8, 7/15, 7/22). The other 5 pay checks are training pay checks. All these checks posted are my NET pay (TakeHome). I have no insurance being taken out as of now since it takes 90 days before that happens & as of now I'm not contributing to 401k either. image.png

No. Stop spreading this rumor. Please.

Many companies are waiving this requirement due to the lack of available cdla drivers.

Landed in a cushy spot following advice given by people here like @Chinatown....

Open your eyes look in your area. Call around. Make a resume and bring it into terminals meet the managers, HR personnel etc. just like getting any other great job. It takes lots of work, not just a question in a chat room.

    Come on now.
You're going to upset the whole balance of the site by saying drivers do not have to start out at the bottom.

Too tired to read through thread, so I apologize if this was answered, but why don't both of you go get a CDL and team up? Best way I've seen for a family to build up some serious cash and not have to deal with being separated for weeks at a time. Although you'd still be separated for weeks at a time, you'd just be separated two feet from each other

Has your husband looked at all the LTL carriers in your area if there are any? XPO (Used to be Conway Freight), YRC, ABF, and Old Dominion have driver training programs for those who are new to the industry. It might be another direction to go.
