this is true of some students at the school..
we have several IH trucks for them to practice the yard skills with, and the brake test....but the pre-trip screws them up, as we have Sterling road trucks for the road and DMV testing...
since the IH and Sterlings differ from location of dipsticks to washer fluid tanks to overfill tanks, and what not.. you try to tell them an "alternator is an alternator, a radiator is a radiator, a hose is a hose".........if one truck has them, the others do, JUST LOOK FOR THEM BEFORE YOU SPEAK...!!!
a long time ago i had a student that absolutely refused to learn the pre-trip on anything BUT a Sterling....
well, since those are road trucks, he couldn't get enough practice time pre-tripping...try as i might, he would NOT pre-trip anything else....
he did pass his DMV tests, (barely too) but over a year now......he still ain't driving....
i guess he thinks that all trucks must be 1000% exactly alike.....or he just ain't gonna drive them.....
everyone else does ok, pre-tripping any truck, but occasionally, you get a student that just thinks he's gonna do it his way......
Realistic Pay I can expect to make.
