That's one reason I've always been wanting to buy my own is so i can have what I want. I dont have to drive a company truck that's cut down to 420hp. Also it doesn't have to look like everyone else's truck as in paint color and decals.

I want a truck i can customize how I want it. After reading all this and looking up some info online in various places I definitely wouldn't mind buying a t600 or something similar.

It may not be a hood, but at least it looks good ;)

Nice set of lopro 17" wheels, suspension drop of 4". Ground effects kit to the dot bumper.

Real ghetto paint scheme on the reefer trailer

I was gonna say a t800 too lol.

I've had my eye on them since seeing one a guy had complete custom. This thing had chrome everything. 300+ inch wheelbase, 4 axle heavy haul spec, 86" high rise sleeper. They look badssa with a heavy 20,000lbs front axle. Its like a tall super single lol.

And that's what it truly comes down to.

It's a decision that's as much "emotional" as practical. Kinda like, no one marries the REALLY UGLY CHICK, just because she has certain "skills" (or, maybe I shouldn't say NO ONE - but certainly not ME).

Kinda why I'm stuck on a VERY PARTICULAR model, year and spec.

In fact - saw the PERRRRFECT MATCH on TruckPaper today - Bruckners has an '11 780/D-16/I-Shift - 162K miles. $99K - pretty much completely spec'd they way I want (except no APU). I'm just NOT THERE capital-wise, and not ready to transition into OTR just yet. But this one's got me looking around the house at what I can "off" to get the $25K I'm short at this point (and no, I wouldn't just offer them $99 off the bat). Not worried though - more '11's will be coming in towards the end of the year - when I AM in a financial position to go in, ALL CASH.

Everyone has a particular taste - and as Bill intimates (even though it's still a BUSINESS DECISION), everyone WANTS WHAT THEY WANT. If you're BUYING A TRUCK, why spend weeks at a time, in something you're not 100% HAPPY being in?

Wow....o.k. Remember this is just my opinion so excuse me if it comes off rude...unless you have a dedicated customer base good luck with that "tricked out" truck ... Pulling flatbed? How much is that bumper when you take that load to a construction site and bust it up in one of those holes....Pulling refer? Yeah good luck with your fuel mileage with that streched out frame...smh .... I can pretty much promise you that you will make the same amount of money that Ido with my plain jane 02....fellas get what you want but be pratical start a business, grow a business, put in time then decide if you want to play with toys...everybody likes a good looking ride....but I also enjoy my house, my Ram, and my growing retirement account so I can finally reach my goal of being a "snow bird"....customers and brokers care if you are on time and offer exceptional service .... Believe me you can get a pratical truck for around $20,000 to $30,000 have some money for emergency repairs and start making it do the deal....dramers will alays do just that...if I kept dreaming I would still be asleep while the world was passing me by ... Take action fellas

I mean customize in different ways. I wouldn't waste my money on a bumper, I like kW and Pete stock bumpers. The ones that raise up toward the outside.

I'm not saying id get a big stretched out frame, maybe a 250-280" wheelbase would be my desire with a 63-70" flat top sleeper.

As far as customizing, I'm mainly talking about paint jobs, air brush work, custom toolboxes, visor, stacks, grille, fuel tanks being polished up.

Just like my pro star now, it gets dirty at most all the places I go to, bit I spend time polishing my toolboxes and tanks because I want it too look good. I don't see trucks as just tools, I see them as tools plus a means to express yourself.

I have a clean truck because I'm a clean person, I was made fun of by another flat bed driver because I was hand washing my truck and polishing my toolboxes. I spent 3 hours just washing the truck and another 4 polishing.

He told me its just gonna get dirty when i go to a construction site or one of the steel mills that are mostly mud parking lots. I said that's okay, just gives me another reason to give my girl a bath.

Bottom line is I want a good looking truck, a clean truck, and it gets the job done for me without looking like a football helmet.
