Sounds to me like nothing more then another buttercup moment. Suck it up there is profanity. Inappropriate comments both in this industry if this bothers you then this is not the industry for you.
You said you hadn't slept do to anxiety of the way your boss treated you. What kind of millennial BS is this.suck it up buttercup. You are in for one rude awakening if you plan on getting into trucking.if you don't get crap from your bosses in one form or the other. You will d a m n sure be hearing it from other drivers.

OK I asked because I don't want to offend you with my comments.

Because you didn't respond so I assume you are of the female gender and reading your other posts it still isn't clear.

However here is the thing, if this is offensive to you, you ain't going to make it in this industry.

What you faced was nothing at all, an every day thing that happens to a lot of people and it all depends on how you take it, most don't really give a crap but others fall apart, as you did.

My advice is this, and I would take it a bit serious. YOU'VE got a degree right?

    USE IT.

As I would tell my kids, stop making excuses and use that knowledge to do something where you can be insulted from people that you described.

This is a non issue for most companies. Clean driving record, valid DL. I would downplay what happened. I was going to be leaving at xyz date, this become an issue with my direct manager, and it was decided to end my employment there early.

Everyone is saying she's going to be exposed to worse language in "trucking," but I haven't seen much fowl mouthery out and about. Maybe on the CB at the Pilot but never from dispatch or shippers/ receivers.

I guess it's how you carry yourself. If you come across as a victim, some dick head will abuse you/ treat you like ####.

Look people in the eye when speaking to them, keep your head up, use a firm assertive tone and you're not likely to find yourself on the receiving end of profanity.

That's the right answer; you quit/resigned to attend cdl school.
Don't disparage a former company; companies you're interviewing with don't want to hear that and will assume you may do the same to them some day. Don't even hint at harrasment or use that word; if you do you won't be hired. Short and to the point; "resigned to attend cdl school."
I always said I resigned for better pay and benefits. In your case, you resigned to attend cdl school.

    Um right.

It only take one time to get someone at a shipper or at a receiver to be mad about something they will let loose with some of the nastiest words you will ever be called.

It happens and the problem isn't with the bad language it is handling it when you are the one being yelled at.

Even for me, who has heard a lot, there are times when I don't like it but have to tolerate it because I would have been fired, the last time was just before my vacation in October a owner of a place I was delivering to just lost his mind when he got the die that was on my truck, my customer had re-machined this thing four times and it still wasn't right.

Another time I did a ride along with one of my drivers, we were delivering at Lords Town, had a dock manager scream at both of us because we were ten minutes early, she used language that would embarrass a sailor.

I'm pretty much the epitome of a job hopper (not bragging by any means) and I have never had a problem finding a good job.
If I'm asked about it in an interview I'll just say "It is what it is, I won't make excuses or waste your time explaining it. Right now, I'm just looking to find stable employment." and that seems to satisfy anyone who asks about it.

I've never been fired and everyone I've worked for has given a good reference though, I think that's the most important thing. Make amends if need be with your former employer, or use a contact at the company that you are on good terms with.

Just be honest but never thrash a former employer. Everything in positive light always.

You don't need a long drawn out excuse, Your old boss wass an abusive a-hole, screamed at you, threatened you, FOLLOWED you to your car, bashed on your windows while continuing to scream at you. That's assault! Cops may even call it some equivalent of attempted battery, NOBODY has to work in those conditions period the end.
