    What is a reasonable Canadian rate for an owner operator being paid by the mile, considering the high cost of fuel.

    that is the 64,000 dollar question it all depends what your doing I like $3 a mile + FSC brokers like a buck a mile and never heard of a FSC

    I figure what it cost to run my truck a mile plus what i want to make a mile add it together and thats what i need for all miles loaded and empty for me i need $1.40 or more.

    as with any business, you must figure twice the cost of job. otherwise your not paying for the surprises. if it isnt a mechanical surprise, it will be a shipper/reciever surprise.
