So I know there are going to be some that say trash the Rockwell and get a Eaton Fuller. I would like to but I don't see myself in the truck for long term so really don't want to put a bunch of money into it. Anyway, I have a 99 International 8100 with a 10 sp Rockwell with Cummins M11. I had a rebuilt tranny put in. I have had it out with the company I got the tranny from and without going to court about it which is not worth it, they will do nothing. Ever since I got the tranny from them it has a whine. It does it in every gear. Anywhere around 1500 rpm and up it is really bad. What could this be? Anyone have any ideas? I would like to get this fixed if possible. I don't know, it might be better to just get another one. Any thoughts? Thanks

Ck and change the gear oil in it and look carefully at both plugs for a cone of metal shavings on end of each plug if the fill plug has a lot of big things stuck on it, find out where they got it from and bypass the shop and go to rebuilding shop for help?

I put a 13 spd fuller in a GMC General around 1992. It came from Kerns in Atlanta and it had a bad whine.
The owner set it up with them for a time he would be in the area. He said they picked the front up with a forklift, under the tires, on each side at the same time and set it on stands. Then did the rear axles. Spun it up and rolled around under it on a creeper. Said it is in the back box. Swapped out the back box.
Told him sorry for the problem. Sometimes even a new bearing can make a noise. Thanks for the business and have a good day.
It could be lots of different things. Stinks when people will not back up their work.
