My seat belt was on but not tight against my chest...I'm a woman and it hurts to have it tight there. He noted I had belt on but not correctly..then he goes on to do roadside inspection and puts citation on it. This was my first trip with new company and they have put me on probation for it. I don't have any other tickets..and it said I had it on..can anything be done? Thanks so much! Mad lady with boobs

I wouldn't stress yourself over it really. Just keep it clean from here on out. They are a sad bunch who nit pick saw one harassing drivers today over parking in a commercial area if they were not picking up a load. All the best to you nothing really you can do but not stress yourself over. Keep trucking

You can always Dataq any violation on an inspection but you seem to have fallen prey to the old “properly restrained” clause of 392.16. Sorry!

Seat belt ticket isn’t the end of the world. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Could a device like this possibly be of help?

He got you on the inspection part. That sux. As far as the citation goes, call the courthouse and tell your side of the story to the court clerk. The clerk will probably drop the seatbelt charge.

From this moment, every time you pull into a weigh station, inspection station, or get pulled over, tug that seat belt and get that tensioner working. Okay? Don't argue or explain, just do. You can set it back the way you had it after you get out of there.

    Luck in battle.

I once had one roll up next to me at a stop light and get my attention to see if I had my seatbelt on. I just stared at him for a few seconds thinking to myself "the #### do you want" before it dawned on me that he wanted to see if my seatbelt was on, looking for an easy ticket so he didn't have to work for the rest of the day or whatever.

Pulled on my seatbelt and let it smack back against my chest, then he had the nerve to wave at me as if to say "have a nice day". Sometimes they're pricks for no good reason. Just let it go, good luck trying to do anything about it.
