Speaking of how stupid california is. That i5 northbound coming down the mountain is stooopid!
35 mph lane and it's not that steep. It just creates a cluster flock!

What’s worse is the Cajon Pass on I-15. The scales are at the bottom on the hill. Incase no has noticed, they closed the Brake Check area on top of I-15 permanently and it’s going to be the New Chicken COOPS.

Oh the escapades that I have seen bailing off Cajon about 5:00 a.m Monday morning. Nothing compared to you obviously, but it's amazing there aren't more serious crashes there southbound.

To many dumb ##### burning up brakes all the way down that hill is why the speed limit is 35mph. You can thank your fellow steering wheel holder for that!

In my early years before Jake’s was a standard option, I drove trucks without Jake’s and grossing 80k going down that hill. The only way I kept the brakes from smoking was to do about 28-30 mpg, any faster and I would be having a cookout by the time I got at the bottom. What’s crappy about that pass is that if they catch you passing or going 1 mile an hour than the posted speed…… your getting pulled over, “if” they are taking pictures.

WOW!!! I just figured they were fixing up the brake check. Makes sense because you don't go through an OPEN scale from Northern Ca.> SR99>SR58>US395>I15>Inland Empire>L.A. That's a big hole their filling. Don't worry Scale Dodgers, you can still take SR14 to I5.

Half the time our scales in Socal aren’t even open, so you still gonna be ok. Lol

True, also, instead of taking the scenic route to avoid scales, this where it’s always a necessity to have a decent functional radio to get the heads up is the coops are open or closed for you Outlaw drivers….. (<guilty).:D

TBH that isn’t a bad thing especially if it’s a brake check scale combo… IN Canada I see guys blowing brake checks and barely stop everywhere except Kamloops north bound brake check which is also where the scale is . Everyone does a walk around lol
