You have to be part of a larger group...(consortium) you have no say over a random. Now I guess you could flag yourself for a just cause one..:)

I would of been more than happy to do that, no such option was given to me though.

My experience with 1st safety audit, albeit 10 years ago, they are not there to write tickets. It supposed to be a teaching experience of what they want during an actual audit. at least that's what they told me and that's what mine was. Good luck. You'll be fine

Contact the person listed in email as an audit officer and ask how it to do and what the time period of your logbook he or she wants to audit.
By federal rules all audit is online from 2016 if my brain not farting.
    Go to this page https://ai.fmcsa.dot.gov/NewEntrant/home.aspx

I used tan folders and marked the relevant idea on the tab and then on the front marked every item within tab= DRIVER front=application, driving record, medical etc... The audit took like 30ish minutes he said that was the most organised and smooth audit he has ever had.

My one fault was the company drug and alcohol policy. Which he didn't ding me for he just printed one out form me. There would be no way I could of done it in a spiral note book 0_0

Could you test yourself if you had reasonable suspicion? :)

They wanted me to show them my PM schedule. Being a three truck operation at the time, I didn't have one. "We just bring the trucks in after every trip and check everything over in addition to the inspection reports". He didn't like that. They wanted a PM schedule. I would also have a copy of all my good DOT inspections on hand. DOT cops sometimes only enter the inspections with violations into the database and it makes you look like you fail 100% of your inspections. I had to prove my violation rate was acceptable.

Can you not petition them to ACTUALLY enter the good inspection details into their system???

I cant imagine some DOT cop pulling beside you, running your MC, it comes back as a 100% failure rate, and based on that, decides to pull you over for a rectal exam.

This would really inconvinience the operation
