Finally received the offer letter from OD. Now I have to log-in and fill out some forms including one that asks if I've even been convicted of any crimes. Back in my wild days of 20-23 years old I did have some misdemeanor stuff like wreckless driving, etc. but that was like 20 years ago and my understanding is that employers only go back 7 to maybe 10 years max when doing a background check. Do I need to disclose these 20 year old charges?
Received offer letter --now what about any prior convictions

Yes.
-
Yes they do. My employer wanted a quick explanation on everything I had on record.

Sent home for not disclosing everything after quitting
Your current job.
If it was a 1099 okey doke job nobody would care,
But since your on the brink of getting a real job don't
Risk it.
I had a careless driving 20 years ago. It's not even
On my driving record anymore. I still put it on my
Application anyway.
A short sentence explaining what happened and that's it.
Nobody's ever asked about. -

No they won’t. They aren’t looking for Boy Scouts. But trucking companies want honesty. I was asked by my interviewers the same questions over and over about both my criminal history and past drug use. Both of which were in the very distant past. I was honest about how I was a different person then. I’m not that man now. I never hid it. My company used HireRight. I have since learned I could get my own copy of what they see. It might have made it easier to be ready for the questions.

Kind of jobs good and bad.
You could not disclose it, then worry everyday and
Every time they tell you to come into the office that
They found out about it.
Then your screwed.
They asked you if you ever been convicted of a crime.
If you don't disclose it then your turning in a
False application.
Save yourself the everyday stress that one day
Somebody is gonna find out about it.
Better now than later.
Also,I've seen situations like this when the driver
Lied on his application. The company knew he lied,
But said nothing because they needed to get the
Truck rolling.
Then when things slowed down and they needed to
Cut back a little, they would Bring this to the drivers
Attention and let him go.
No unemployment either.
Let the demons out now. When you get the job
You know you don't have anything to worry about.

Good points here. Thanks for sharing.
