Receiver refuse to unload truck.

Yeah I know. Not my fault you didn't tell the new guy not to sign the bills until after unloading. It was a certain cheese place that I had only been to once before (at that point in time).

Sometimes I wish I had a dump truck so if they don't unload it, I can just push a button and dump it on their dock.

 

Ran a set of trains into a lumber yard the week before last with 95,000 lbs across 22 lifts. Took all the straps off, customer comes out and says "take it back" (this is a place where you have to back out, and I was not looking to curve-back loaded trains onto the road).

The shipper loaded 8's, 10's, 12's, 14's and 16's on the load but the receiver only wanted 12's-16's. There were only 5 lifts total, 2x 8's and 3x 10's, and the receiver was trying to turn the whole load down because of those 5 lifts.

Called dispatch, they called the customer, about 15 minutes later, the yard manager comes out, says we'll take what we want and you'll take back what we don't. They ended up having to move the 3x 10's from the top of the load and the 8's just stayed on where they were originally loaded.

It's so much easier when the company tells the customer they'll charge them for the load regardless if they take it or not.

 

Belive me, buddy, for every one you rejected 50 snuck through. Wash outs? Ha! I got your ticket right here. Oh, my last load? Wheat.... always wheat.

 

They are actually lucky u even unloaded it. You had every right to simply drive off and off the product somewhere else.

 

I just wanted it off! I had a pre-plan for a pickup with THAT trailer. Although now that I think about it, if it had been a bunch of boxes of mac & cheese I woulda thought about dropping it off at a warehouse my grandpa owns. It was just cheese sauce though

 

Few years back was running loads out of Elwood, IL Vizio warehouse to Best Buy DC in Streetsboro, OH.
Meticulous shipper. Driver on dock to count and verify count against loader. Pictures taken, etc. Get BOL and it has value listed. Van load full of 55 and 60'' flatscreens.

Get to delivery and told no appt was made for load. Next available appt Tuesday. This is a Friday morning. Ummm not no but hell no! No way I'm sitting in a truck stop with a load this valuable for 4 days. Entire facility knows this load is in the area.

Shipper paid to return load to warehouse, store it in my van on their yard 3 days then return it back to Oh.
Made out like a fat rat!

 

Wasn't a big deal don , back then I did NYC every week and the fixture manufacturer paid detention time the mafia would have been happy with lol

 

Fired over stupidity! Somethings just never change!

 

I don't recall ever getting refused a full load but partial loads I have.Thanks to the brokers they talked the customer into taking the load.
