    Worst of the worst receivers:
All the receivers in the list below, have the same " Issues " :
Corporate greed refusing to hire adequate amount of receivers, checkers, and office personal in order to properly and expeditiously handle the extreme volume of freight that they order.
80% of the time when there is a hick-up with your delivery PO, is due to the fact that the " Buyer" who is usually buying product from the comfort of his boat in Nantucket, does not properly notify " Via the email "
the receiving departments for this huge warehouse conglomerates.
All the warehouses mentioned below do not have a human being scheduling appointments, it;s now done via
" the email ", since yhey all have now an " automated " scheduling system via the email or leaving a phone message, and it can take you up to a week to get a delivery appointment.
Therefore, if you see any of these receivers on your loading schedule charge accordingly, because the cost involving any of these receivers can become astronomically high in terms of loss productivity, as well as driver dissatisfaction and retention issues or worst a driver injury while delivering.
If you see any of these receivers, charge at least $ 200 in advance for a single truckload delivery, or up-to $ 150.00 per stop in the case of LTL shipments to anyone of these facilities, because it will ruin your day's schedule in case you have LTL to deliver, or you could very easily miss your next load p/u in case of a truck load delivery ( Loss of revenue $$$ ) given the fact that your driver will run out of hours sitting at a dock doing nothing but waiting to be unloaded or " worked in ".

    C& S Mauldin SC ( Formerly BI-LO ), Miami FL, Orlando FL ( Formerly Winn Dixie ):

C & S es even worse now that when it was owned either by BI-LO ( Maulding ) or Win-Dixie, FL and GA
warehouses. C& S went on a monopolistic buying spree, and took over multiple grocery warehouses
all over the country, therefore, their receiving procedures, times for unloading, and lumper charges, are some of the worst in the industry ( Upwards of $ 350.00 ) in some cases, plus they require a " Special " delivery printout sheet in order to pay for the products they receive, said sheet must be clear in all boxes or you could be in for a surprise when your check comes in the mail 30-45 days later ( Special deductions for pallets or missing/damaged cases not returned to your trailer since they keep them)
Expect to spend at least 4-5 hrs at any of these warehouses for delivery, regardless of your appt time or how many pallets you are to deliver.
    Question:
Do you charge the shippers for the com-check and T-check fees associated with the delivery of their freight, or does your company absorb those fees.
Also, now they have added another little trick, if you use a com-check, or a t-check, or an EFS ceck, they will charge an additional $ 4.00 fee, plus they Do not accept cash! .......... Do you get the idea?........There is no way around that fee.

Food Lion: Clinton TN, Green cove Springs FL, Salisbury NC.

Old warehouses with no dock space to unload multiple trucks, extreme anti-driver attitude from the receiving office, high $$$ lumpers, long hours to unload.

KEHE Distributors: Atlanta GA, Jacksonville FL, Weston FL,

    Sysco foods:
Nashville TN, Atlanta GA, Riviera Beach FL, Orlando FL.

Same as above, plan on leaving at noon time, even if your appointment is set for 7:00 am and you are on time.

US Foods: Hurricane WV, Norcross GA, Port Orange FL, Boca Raton FL:
In addition to very long hours to unload, they do not have space to handle all the trucks they receive on the parking lot, therefore, you will be fighting for a parking space with their company trucks, or risk getting a ticket by your friendly local police department if waiting outside the facilities.

Gordon Foods: Atlanta GA, Shepperdsville KY, Miami Fl ( Both Frozen and dry receiving ).
Extreme anti-driver attitude and culture. No human beings on their "guard shacks".
If you go inside asking ( Shepperdsville KY ), you will be sent outside to park on the " Truck pen ", walk to the intercom on the empty Guard Shack, if if it is 15 minutes past your appointment time, they will mark you late and in a " Work in status "

    UNIFI: Atlanta GA.

    Walmart Distribution Centers, all locations:
In addition to long hours, Walmart will make your drivers disconnect, and drop your trailer completely before unloading, all because they have old warehouses with no " Dock-Lock " systems.
Since warehouse insurance liability policies require a restriction of movement for the trailers while docked, Walmart gets around this by making over the road delivery trucks " un-hook " from their trailers with no compensation for the delivery driver. Basically in a typical day, at any Walmart warehouse, 300 trucks will un-hook their trailers for free ( No compensation for the driver ), because Walmart is to cheap to install dock-lock Hooks, at all of their doors, therefore delivery drivers are forced to "drop and hook " for free 24/7/365 at all Walmart distribution centers, refrigerated or dry. In the case of LTL deliveries to multiple Walmart warehouses, your driver can potentially drop and hook up-to 5 times a week for free, adding severe premature damage to your truck's 5th wheel plate and locking mechanism, as well as your your trailer's King-Pin, not to mention potential back and leg injuries to your drivers while performing this operations multiple times a month, worst yet, someone could back-up and injure your driver while he/she is " dropping the trailer " on the dock at a WalMart facility.

Only one on your list I've been to is the Salisbury, NC food lion and I was in and out in little less than 2 hours so maybe I just lucked up.. I typically have proctor and Gamble freight when going to grocery warehouse so it's usually 2 hours or less cause they get charged. I would add associated Grocers in Pearl River, LA to the list I just spent 12 hours there a week ago and 8 the time before that

    Finfn1372 Thanks this.

Thats what I've been thinking too. If the receiver is billed (prolly at an exorbitant rate) they will act right.

Proctor & Gamble will smack them good and they know it, so they act right.
