Still plenty of companies will hire you, just can't be as choosy. You didn't waste your money acquiring a CDL.
Take what you can get and then in 3 - 6 months you'll have plenty other choices.

    Jamie01 and weekendso Thank this.

For Tmc, I've done a bit of research with them but I haven't got the answer I was exactly looking for. Do you know if TMC will have you do classroom + all the other basic training all over again if I already have my CDL? I don't mind orientation and trainer training period but Im already behind on bills and I currently make $700 weekly and Although I cant be picky, I dont wanna be even more behind because of the crap pay from Mega companies like tmc during their classroom and cdl training period. I've asked and couldnt get an answer from them on if I have to go through that.

No company is going to put you through school since you already have a cdl.

Part of the company (recruiters) will always say "please apply to work for us" and another part of the company (operations) knows they have too many drivers now.

The industry is slow due to the economy. Some companies are slower than others and some locations of the same company are slower than other locations of the same company. It could be the dedicated customer that has the freight you would have pulled cut back shipments or is moving to another trucking company. These are my guesses.

"Down here".....in "the South" -- I routinely see driver job ads for BRAND NEW CDL drivers -- with Werner & with Maverick (both mentioned earlier in this thread).

When I click on Maverick's hiring area map at Philadelphia -- it lists jobs available in BOTH their marine AND glass divisions.

I can't speak for the glass division part -- but....according to a co-worker of mine...the marine job is/would be a cool gig -- ESPECIALLY for a brand new driver.

Did you submit a complete application to both carriers? If so -- what happened with each?

If not -- why not? o_O

I'll look at Mav's info right now. Didnt know they were hiring in this area. I mainly see JB hunt (Who told me there was no work nor trainers in my area) and I see a lot of US foods and Sysco
