Racism against non-Hawaiians is worse in HI now than 20 years ago.

How come he never used the clutch? How can he shift gears without using the clutch?

If you have experience NOT using the clutch is easier than using the clutch. Not using the clutch is called floating the gears. Don't worry or try to do that until after you have a license. Some state exams will fail you for not using the clutch on a road test. You don't want to interfere with learning the one technique using the clutch. If you mention it at school you sill start long pointless discussions that only waste time and teach nothing.

I already have my license as of Monday. I just didn’t think it was possible to do that. I had a hard time double clutching and switching gears at the same time but still managed and passed. This definitely seems easier than what they taught in school.

It is easier ONCE YOU KNOW HOW TO DO IT. You do the same matching of RPM and road speed as when using the clutch. Just search YouTube for how to float gears. It works for upshifting and downshifting. I thought I broke my left foot at end of my 1st year of driving and taught myself to do it so I could drive home.

I had much more pleasant experiences in Communist countries than I did in Hawaii.
In fact, I never had an unpleasant experience in a Communist country.
Have you considered trucking in Miami or Key West?
Warm climate and trucking jobs are available for new cdl school grads.
