HI
I thought I was gonna attend cdl school about 6 months ago but got into a temporary gig. The job ended so im Back!! I did alot of research on truck driving companies. The ones i liked arent hiring at the present time. I was wondering if u guys have seen a drastic reduction of freight? Would u even recommend getting into this field now?
thanks

Well I would not say "drastic" but there for awile it was pretty bad.. Things seemed to be pretty steady for the moment.. The issue is companies are trying to be more efficient. run the same amount of freight with less trucks. another words get rid of the guy who only runs 2000 miles a week and move the guy who runs 2500-2600 up to 3000.. Fuel would be the reason..
Well the trucking Industry is facing a huge change in the near future.. Companies are falling left and right.. Soon they will be looking for cheaper labor and we all know where that is going to come from.. -
Well, you could look at it this way..........
The turn-over rate is so high for truck drivers that there is always a position open somewhere!!
In reality...... companies are always looking for GOOD employees...... if you are good at your job you will find a niche.......Last edited: Jun 6, 2008
