I have an Indiana CDL, In my home state of Ohio I received a reckless operation conviction in my personal vehicle. The court suspended my license for a 1 year. Or until I pay all fines and take a class. How does this affect my cdl.

It will show up. If you license in Ohio is still suspended then your CDL is no good. If you have had your license reinstated in Ohio then it will depend on how long ago you hand the reckless operation. It also will depend on what the heeeellllllll the reckless operation was. Spinning your tires is different from being involved in a wreck. Both can get you a reckless operation ticket.
So, is your license still suspended in Ohio? Why did you get this ticket? Have you seen a lawyer? How long ago was the ticket? Without those details we are just guessing. In general, it ain't a good thing to have reckless on your history. -
Yeah my license is suspended in Ohio. The ticket was for Speeding in an out of lanes. It happened last year in August.

I would think your CDL would be suspended as well, Thus making the question "Have your license ever been Suspended for ANY violation? The answer would be "YES" and then you are shipped down the road to the local Mc Donalds for a career in Burger Flipping! Good Luck! -
You will have to pay your fine, and then go back to your local DMV and pay for another CDL. It will cost about what it would cost for a renewal. I'm not going to tell you about the damage to your MVR...I think you already know you're in for a rude awakening.

Check with your state MVD.........Having said that whether the ticket is in a personal vehicle or a commercial vehicle it makes no difference. Reckless driving is one of the three major offenses on your CDL so it's a big deal. One thing's certain though, it will be harder for you to obtain employment as a commercial driver because of this major conviction on your license.

Right I was thinking the same thing. Disappointed in myself would be an understatement.

How did you get the reckless ticket ?

Reckless operation is considered a serious offense, regardless of whether it happened in a truck or your personal vehicle.
If you are convicted of two serious offenses within a 3 year period, you will be disqualified from driving a CMV for 60 days. If you are convicted of 3 or more serious traffic offenses within a 3 year period, you will be disqualified from driving a CMV for 120 days.
Your biggest hurdle will be finding anybody that will hire you with an offense such as that. Good luck. You're going to need it.
