I'm just not going to drive illegal for $.26/mile. The tickets given to super-truckers require a much higher pay. I've got my 6 months training time in and I'd like a company that pays more.

I see some companys pay around $.40/mile to company drivers with only 6 months experience. I want such a company that is likely to hire a company driver with 6 months experience, but my previous 2 years of work history has gaps due to divorce.

Lets face it, filling out all those applications takes a lot of time. If there is a good website that will auto-fill the fields for me, or send my resume to many OTR companys at once, that would be ideal.

I am not tied down to a location.

The ideal thing for me would be a company who's people are truthful, legal, transparent in their pay, and pay well for good work.

I have no accidents, no DUI's, no criminal history, no major tickets, no speeding tickets. I'm CDL school trained. 1 mo OTR w/ trainer, nearly 6 months solo, totalling almost 7 months total. + 1 mo of driving in CDL school totalling nearly 8 months total.

If you suggest a company, please share their pay for 6 months experience, none of this "up to" stuff.

I have no endorsements, but have passed all the tests at the DMV.

I want a company who is really looking to hire, even a driver with a work-history that could be much better.

.40/mile for 6 months experience? I'm not saying it isn't true, but that's quite a bit for the experience. There are a few companies out there that will take you on, but they're the big ones. PM me, and I'll tell you about one I've got experience with. Asking you PM me because I've been accused of being a cheerleader, recruiter, et. in the past. Strange though, I haven't driven for that company in a year, but would still recommend them to anyone with your experience or less.:biggrin_2559:

    On edit; check your pm's

There was only thing that you forgot when you did this elaborate thread, what type of trailer have you pulled and what are you looking to pull. That will make the advice easier, also since you have no real restrictions and a seemingly good driving record the choices should be plenty. Just keep up the good work and siff through some of the previous threads and that will save you some time with some of "Big Companies". Hope this helps any other questions PM me and I'll give you all the info I know.

It's going to depend on whether or not you will run team. The honest truth, 6 months ain't much as far as experience goes. But it is a start. If your experience is with the large "turnover" companies, that doesn't say much either. Just being honest. Good luck.

Point well taken however if you can tough it out with what some of the "Bigs" are putting out these days, other companies might take it as a sign that the rookie has a little staying power. Takes a tough customer to hangon with the JB's, Pam's and the other well known ones we read about on the forum. As always appreciate the insight from a senior trucker.

Judging by the pay, .26/mile, I'll wager he's driving one of those big blue boxes.:biggrin_25525:

Ugly truth...nobody with .42 cts p ml will hire u you better off looking for a company around your area not a big comp because you will be a # but a local comp where you will be know by your name and just run you zone whether is midwest west or east that way you stay close to something you call home listen its very hard at first i had 1 yr of local ag with doubles but when it came time to do interstate trucking they laughed at me and said none of my local driving experience counts so i started at the bottom now im making .38 cts pr ml in one yr the worst thing you can do is start job jumping dont do that...also try WIDE TURNS.COM they will send your app to many companies best of luck to you and remember to be and becareful....peace
