Harris Trucking out of Lynchburg. They get a bad wrap but they treat people fair. If you are a hard runner they tend to scale back on the ne. I ran alot of ohio, va, ky, nc/sc, tn. Was there for over 3 years

 

Not sure what kind of freight you like to run but, my understanding "Best Specialized" is a decent company. They are about 25 minutes from me over in South Point, OH. The company they bought out was H&W, I drove for them back in the early 90's, they treated us good. Haul a lot of Railroad stuff. Don't know about Best but you can give them a jingle. I'm racking my brains for a name,friend went to work for a company and he loves it. Home weekends no problems, fairly short runs, 100-400 miles one way I think. I'll try to ask him for sure.

 

If you don't mind physical activity, burns motor freight out of marlinton wv might be worth calling.

 

Yes, as if coming to a community of TRUCKERS and asking for quality information and feedback isn't doing research...

Coming here is exactly where I came upon the place I drive for... As well as a few other quality leads... Google won't tell you what actual drivers say about a company.

 

Urial trucking, based in the Southside of Richmond right off of Chipenham pkw and Jeff Davis.
Watkins Shepard, closest yard is somewhere in the middle of NC, I live just south of Richmond, when I spoke to WS, I live too far away. I don't recall whether their hiring radius was 150 or 250 miles.

 

No worries ... Like I said, not every company is a good fit for every driver... No matter the reasons... Many other quality companies to find.
