How much is a speeding ticket nowadays?
Last time I got one I was a teenager and they were $50 didn’t matter how fast you were going.

I've heard (mostly on this forum probably) that you should always fight a ticket if you have a Cdl.

Not without at least trying to get it reduced or something

pleading guilty in exchange for a suspended sentence or something .

don’t just hand over the money and get points on your mvr for the next seven years .

I wouldn’t give up. It don’t hurt to try, I might have just gotten a jerk judge that hates truckers or something of the like. Im from WV and they put no points on my license when it happened so there was that.

Do a search for traffic lawyers in the vicinity of the courthouse. The closer, the better. It's all about who they know.

Personally, I’d just pay it and move on but I’m old and really don’t give a poop anymore..once they restrict our speed I’m getting a KIA and delivering pizzas :)

If I intended to stay in the business, I would make an effort to do something about it.

Not sure how things are done in CA but where I’m from you’d go before a Magistrate where it’s much more relaxed.

Just tell them that you’ve been struggling to keep your kids fed and beg for forgiveness. Or something along those lines..

I definitely wouldn’t give a dime to any scumbag lawyer
