Is there any device that would let you record the trucks RPM/speed/etc that you can install in the truck?
My employer had such a device installed in about 1985. Driver entered codes for destination, weather, etc. Tape about the size of a VHS was subsequently used to make a printout. Supervisor asked stupid question about a rise in RPM. I explained that the speed limit had changed as I approached a town, and I downshifted. After the second trip, the device failed due to bounce and vibration of trucking equipment. Device was returned to manufacturer.
It's called QuallComm...records everything! Speed, RPM, hard breaking, excessive speed in turns, idle time, time in cruise, time in top gear....
Thanks, I was wondering if those did that. We had a truck just blow a top end because valve rods were bent, broke a rocker or two and cracked the rocker shaft. Plus we're getting HORRIBLE fuel mileage. I need a way to make sure these problems couldn't have been prevented.
