Very common, we recovered one for them once, it wasn't far from the terminal so we just rode over there and brought it back, we were in line for a truck at that time so it wasn't a big deal. The truck's clutch died on the way over it ended up having to be towed, but we did get a truck that evening we hated and the lady was nice because we had done that favor for her and allowed us to give it to the guy in line behind us so we could come back the next day where she gave us the one we wanted...
The truck we recovered wasn't that bad, but I've heard some horror stories.

Well, I ended up not having to recover a truck. They found one at the terminal here in Omaha that was ready to go. It's a 387 Peterbilt with 336,000 miles on it. It's not in too bad of shape except the grill and right front fender have been smashed and glued back together. I took pictures of it and noted all the damage on the inspection sheet so I won't be held responsible for it. I would have thought they would put a new hood on the truck instead of just glueing it back together. It looks really bad. I'll post a couple pics when I get a chance to.

Here are a few of the pics I took.

WOW, thanks for keeping us posted and doing that!
So how long did it take you to get a truck all said and done from the time you finished your (first) 300 hours of training???
We haven't been hearing good things about that. -
I finished my 300 hrs last Wed then my trainer went home on fri. so I sat in a hotel. We left out again on sunday and got a load up to Omaha. I got off his truck Mon. afternoon tested out Tues and sat around all Wed. waiting on a truck. So, about a week to get me up to Omaha and get a truck. I'm going to a dedicated account that has high turnover so that may have sped the process up for me. I'm supposed to be on the road right now but the trailer I'm supposed to pick up is attached to a broken down truck and I'm waiting for the wrecker to come and drag it out of m way.

I won't say I loved everyday there but most days were OK and I will say that I miss working for them and most of the people, just not the person I had to report to. -
I can say I miss Werner, alot. I miss my dispatcher, don't particular miss his boss much... at... all. Or hell the Dallas terminal. hated that terminal.
-
Actually I miss about everyday. LOL I really did like working there. Who was the Dallas mgr when you were there?
