OTR I'm told is the highest payed gig a newby can get. I'm looking to get in with a company that I can run like hell for. I hear werner's good for that.

which information is inaccurate? Does OTR not have the highest pay potential for a rookie, or is Werner not a good company for high miles?

You will likely make $30K your first year OTR. Is that good to you? Only you can answer that. Now about werner, well maybe you should read some of the threads on here about them and decide for yourself.

Werner does not pay well at all, nor do they give the newbe all the miles available. Some local jobs DO pay MUCH better than werner. Grbage hauler can start at 14.00+ per hour, id you want to haul all day long, gravel usually pays by the ton (so I've been told, dont take it as gospel). Driving for UPS, FEDEX, SPEEDY, can pay much higher and have you home more often (usually daily, talk to freebird or walleye about this, or jake brake).

But above all, dont buy the lie tha OTR pays better than local.

    outerspacehillbilly Thanks this.

Never ever give more information than they ask. What you did was admit to a alcohol related incident. It's listed on their job application and it's seperate from tickets and accidents. Those recruiters are working for companies and not you. I hope you learn a good lesson here and one that some will say save you alot of headache from a company like werner.
