OK so I was talking:biggrin_2551: to a recruiter at the Syracuse NY term, all was going well. Had to get Gap letters which i did.
Now she has stopped returning my calls, I have left messages. Ive played the hurry-up & wait game before but not my fav thing to do .
I recently graduated (dec) from a vocational school, grade avg was 91 passed the road test.
Should I start applying to other entry level carriers? I really wanted to drive for Swift. Any other newbies have this happen? I'm trying to be patient but I want to get going. any suggestions??
Is there even anyone from the Syracuse term on here ??:biggrin_2552:

Did any of this occur during the Holidays? If so, I would imagine she was off work for a while and is now playing catch-up.

I would call a general recruiting number for SWIFT and talk to the first human that will listen.

I don't know about there, but here in Ohio they aren't playing "catch up" at all. I applied within the last 2 weeks, and I am scheduled for orientation already.

It wouldn't hurt to have applications in at some other carriers as well. There are literally thousands of trucking companies- don't put all your eggs in one basket. Putting in an application somewhere doesn't mean you are promising to work for them, it just gets the ball rolling if Swift doesn't work out the way you want it to.

So Swift isnt the only carrier that i have applied to i did all the normal recent graduate carriers. plus some local carriers & a couple O/O that i know. Swift was the first to call back & happen to be my first choice.

To make a long story short my recruiter made contact with me yesterday afternoon & i'm scheduled for orientation on 1/17. All the ducks are in a row& im good to go.
Do recruiters read this forum ?? we may never know but it seems awfully coincidental that i get a call the same day that i started this thread.

Well Thanks to everyone for all the suggestions & help
