I was looking on craigslist local transport classified ads today and discovered many job postings with different numbers and names to call listed on them, all lead to one web site http://www.applicantstack.com/client/tre/x/openings. I began to be suspicious when the third number I called for an OTR position directed me to fill out an application with the web site I listed above. The individual's all stated they work for different recruiting firms which are hired by a variety of transportation companies. They all work for different firms but they all have the same web site? I don't have a problem with people trying to help me find a job, but to me it feels like they making money off me if i was to ever be hired by one of the companies which could be in my pocket. You never know who you are giving you personal information to now a-days and why not just go directly to the company web sites to fill out an application over a secure link than give some stranger your personal info over web site? Does this sound weird or is this just me?

It's a numbers game. They get a referral fee for every hire that comes from them, just like you'd get a referral fee for referring your buddy to work where you're at. Stay away from these people. Keep control over your own stuff!

yeah its to bad the industries hard enough to have these type of people out there, take it easy man

I stay away from craigslist. I once was looking at a jeep cherokee, send a 50% deposit to a PO box(?) Sure, why not just give me your real address in Nigeria or Somalia.

On craigslist there was a driver job to drive adult enterainers around to various clubs and what not but you had to send the guy money to prove you were serious about the job. Lol some people actually fall for this garbage, lol to funny.

It's just like affiliate marketing, they get paid commission/fee whenever someone gets hired through them, I don't have a problem with that but what I do have a problem is with giving them my personal information. So I wouldn't use craigslist or any of those type of sites to apply I would just go straight to the company website and apply there.

Yeah its hard to look else where some time when you're looking local work I normally check out indeed.com or Craigslist ads to see whats going on locally. I didn't expect when calling the locally posted ads i'd get some major transport company recruiter who wants me to take a bus half way across the dam united states all for 36 cents a mile
. Does anyone have any other web sites they know of for local cdl-a work besides the one I listed? O and if any recruiters are reading this stay away please!
