Since you fail to comprehend, that's one of the points I am making. I get detention, but I don't think it's enough. I don't like working for free, but if you do, have at it.

"I am pulling 44k loads almost every day and get squat."
So what does a load really pay? -
Why is it considered crybaby to see what a company pays?Shadalee Thanks this. -
These are all good questions to ask. I add asking about pet policies, and rider programs as well. It is important to thoroughly research the company you are thinking about (this includes talking to drivers that work there) and make sure that you are realistic and honest with yourself about what you want in a trucking company. Don't just base your decision on how much they pay, if you do, you may be miserable and end up putting a black mark on your employment record or getting stuck in a bad situation until you have enough experience to get into another one. Example: A company could offer you 3 cents a mile more to work for them and that sounds so good to you that you don't hear what they say about the home time, so you jump on board and then get disgruntled because you wanted to be home every week but you're lucky if you see home once a month, you won't be happy and will eventually quit. The other company was offering 3 cents per mile less but a better home time package that better fits your lifestyle, you will probably be happier making a little less per mile at the other company, and who knows you might end up bringing home more at the lesser paying company because you get more miles there than the higher paying one. I've seen that happen a lot. You may find a company that fits your needs and you're quite happy there and yet other drivers may come to work there and leave within a week or 2. We all have different wants & needs and not all companies are a good fit for all drivers, so take what other drivers say about a company with a grain of salt. If several drivers at the same company are complaining about the same thing, it should raise a red flag for you.
