A large percentage of drivers are paid by the hour. Guess where turnover is greater... among hourly paid drivers or per mile?bottomdumpin Thanks this.

That's great, but I don't believe I was refuting that?
-
No, you definitely were not. But those pays are very good.

Is the job 1099 or W2? That's one you'll need to ask in places like the oil field. Some OTR jobs are going 1099. 1099 is where YOU make your deductions, as your gross pay = take home pay, for the most part. In other words...with a 1099, you have to withhold your taxes and cover your full your social security deduction, not just half of it. W2 jobs mean your employer will pay half your social security. Also, 1099 jobs don't offer benefits, usually. There's a reason those jobs pay 2100 a week. By the time you're done with your deductions, you're not better off, plus you've spent a load of time on bookkeeping. I'd avoid 1099 jobs.

Where have you been? My buddy (and lots of others) get paid whether the truck is moving or not. Salaried with Benefits, (it does happen). Flat Tires (he don't care). But truth be told, he's running avg 3k week. So he stills drives quite a bit.06driver and Trucking in Tennessee Thank this.

So, gentleman. Where are all these hourly or salary jobs for the new drivers out there? I'm sure they would like to know.

All great questions the only one you forgot was " How long do i have to work for the company before i become CEO?"
