look at what it says anything before that date is only required to be equipt with what it had or didn’t have from factory. If NY requires it then that is a state thing.
On another note lots of tractors didn’t come with tail lights up through the 70’s. It was optional. Pete called it the straight truck lighting package. Without it the build sheet would show truck tractor tail light delete. If you had fender mounted turnsignals that was all you needed back then. That is why red lens would be on back of them. -
It probably didn't help the last DOT office that wanted to make a issue about it.. I told him that the truck was probably older than his fatherRubber duck kw Thanks this. -
Do you change the lights on the back of your tractor to amber when you have a trailer attached? No. Same principle.
