I just got flashed by a red light camera in Sacramento, CA. I am sure my truck entered the intersection before the yellow turned to red. Maybe it takes the photo anyway. Jamming on the breaks at a yellow while pulling a fully loaded flatbed would’ve been idiotic.
This is company truck so if they send a violation it will go to my out-of-state company HQ. My question is for drivers familiar with Sacramento and these camera tickets. Do they always send them? If they are paid are they actually a moving violation? In my home state we had these but they weren’t moving violations.

If your in the intersection, your fine.
I've had the camera go off numerous times and never received a ticket.
The camera needs to record you behind the stop line with the signal red. -
Worst case scenario and the violation is sent. Then paid. Is it a moving violation?
Ranger309 Thanks this. -
It was for me. I got one in Missouri 3 years ago comin down Hwy 61 in Hannibal. Failure to Obey Signal was the violation and its 2 points. Like @Steel Dragon said though you gotta be behind the line with the signal red. There was an accident at the intersection ahead and traffic was all jammed up and I hung back to make sure I could clear the intersection and not impede the cross traffic and the fast yellow nailed me. You should be alright from what you explained tho. Good luck dude

You should see how slow and careful I am around traffic cameras. If I see the signs, 1/2 the speed limit or less. I hope every local who is behind me is late for work/school/ date whatever. They are the voters to tolerate such unconstitutional nonsense.

How do they find your record to post the ticket? With nothing but your face. And don't you have the right to face your accuser? Cuz I don't see a camera walking in to court.
Funny.how these things pop up because city thinks it's good. But the it comes down to facing the accuser and they disappear. Then other cities try the same thing. Same bs as photo cop. -

The camera flashes you if it detects something moving across the stop line when the light turns red. If you’re in the plane of the intersection on yellow, you’re good to go.
Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
I’m from Sac. Most of the red light cameras in the area use video too. What intersection were you at?
