I thought they decided those cameras were illegal.

There was a guy that became a local folk hero when they had them on the freeway ( They've taken all those down ).
He had like 34 photo radar tickets for speeding on the Loop 202. He wore a guerrilla mask and had one of those covers over his license plate. They never convicted him, because no concrete proof, even though it was the same car at his house lmfao.Ranger309, shogun, austinmike and 1 other person Thank this. -
It’s still a thing in Sacramento. Other California cities have dumped them. Not Sac.

Also gov Jerry Brown has decided that the cameras are admissible in court (backwards from everywhere else), so you get a point on your driving record!
You Got a Red Light Ticket – Now What?Ranger309 Thanks this. -

I am going on a run tomorrow that takes me up through several towns with those stupid red lights. I am so freaking nervous just watching the stupid lights trying to time them, I probably look like the typical “stare ahead” steering wheel holder. I hate those things, especially since the product I haul isn’t always the most secure in the way it’s loaded.

We have them in school zones as well. The local PD's have vans they park in various locations, usually near school zones that will zap you as well. Fully autonomous.
It's no joke though. During the height of it all about 8 or 9 years ago, one guy snapped and started shooting up a DPS photo van. Well, the officer was still in it, and was killed.shogun Thanks this. -
That's what I thought.
All they do is cause reactionary speeding.IluvCATS Thanks this. -
No need to be nervous. Whenever you approach an intersection with a camera stop even if the light is green and let it cycle.
Side note, my safety department has questioned me on hard braking incidents. I always tell them red light cam intersection. They don’t ask me anymore. No way I’m going to be caught. Almost been rear ended a few times too. -
LOLI wish I could but tomorrow is over 600 miles and two stops, so I have to run it efficiently as possible. This is the first time a second stop has been added to this particular run. I have to leave out early and beat school traffic and if I run within a few mph of the speed limit I usually time them pretty well. I have never been caught by any of them but it’s nerve racking driivng cautiously on one hand but trying to get across the white line before it goes red.Ranger309 Thanks this.
