3000 miles seems far fetched considering the long wait times at dairy plants. I suppose if you can use ag exemption to off duty drive you can extend your operating hours but that would make for some looong days.

Every plant will be different. In AZ we had some long waits, but mostly because our company had to clean the trailers we were assigned to(we used the plants trailers) whereas other milk haulers just dropped their mts and grabbed a fresh trailer. Sometimes the plants would go down but 90% of the time it was waiting for a tankwash and one other small plant the was just slow.

Now in Tillamook, we hardly ever wait. We are the only company that brings milk in an our runs are scheduled so trucks 'usually' don't catch up to each other. Sometimes it happens. But here we are paid by the hour with OT. Az was paid by the load. Both were local jobs. I honestly unsure of the long haul milk. We did one farm that was 200 miles away in cali, and that was still paid by the load
