FOUND off exit 5 in Vermont. Reportedly the driver lost his brakes and was having harrowing ride in mountains. He bailed out on emergency ramp at exit 5. Then somehow limped into next town west of there. Still, it is a 15 min drive. Don't know how he did that without brakes unless it was all 1st gear. Then he parked the rig in lot next to hardware store and split town. I went there yesterday to meet the truck owner and verified the vehicle was there. Peeked and contents to see a few things are mine.
Next the owner is having brakes worked on and hopefully limp rest of way to my house to deliver in day or two.

well i hope all of the contents are accounted for and in good shape...but something sounds fishy here...

Long story short, the truck broke and the driver cracked.
I love a happy ending!
I'm glad they got their stuff back!PKG and FloTheWaitress Thank this. -
Sounds like the driver decided he didn't want to drive what he considered substandard equipment anymore. He should, of course, got truck fixed and delivered load before he bailed. Since it was supposed to have been his first load with the company, he sure doesn't seem to have given the company a fair shake. Definatly shorted the companies customer.

Nothing fishy . When people moving look for the cheapest rate they get the lowest grade equipment and personnel they paid for . Maybe the next time they'll pay reasonable rates for professional service .keepntruckin, skierzek, Roadmedic and 3 others Thank this.

Glad you found your stuff. Rick's comment on cheap is right on....been there with all the red flags....priced unseen, rent a truck and extorsion in my living room. Driver was fired immediately and I was lucky to get deposit back.

Fang, did you ever ask yourself why this company has a $6,000 1987 Freightliner but other companies use $200,000 Peterbilts with 144" condo's?
