I didn’t say anything about going to the beach, it snows in states below the Midwest too! But the upper Midwest is particularly a brutal place to run during the winter months, winter comes early, and stays longer than the rest of the country and when you’re only running the Midwest states doing short haul then you’ll more than likely be in the snow during the entire winter. North and South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Minnesota.
Trying to avoid winter storm conditions in the upper Midwest is like running from a toothache. Some people like running up there all the time. Personally I like to move around the country a bit. I work to make money too, and that’s exactly what I’ll be doing this winter…. Just not primarily in the upper Midwest.
