Where yall renting your reefers from? Everyone can't be spending 70-80k on brand new trailers. All I'm finding for sell are 2015ish for around 40k. Gotta be a better way

Xtra, Star, and Premier. I’m trying to buy 3 new ones right now but it’s very difficult to find build slots. Fingers crossed I’ll have them in a couple weeks. I hate renting, especially reefers.
Xtra in my area has plenty of new reefers surprisingly. Vans and flats they are out of.feldsforever, Brettj3876, slow.rider and 1 other person Thank this. -
Not the best time to be looking for a reefer. Probably not going to get the price to move much until the market swings.
Prime sales their stuff,I think their website is pedigree sales.Wespipes, ibcalm19 and slow.rider Thank this. -
Yup van and reefer markets are hot and getting hotter. Inventories are still at historic lows and this summer will probably be absolutely ridiculous. Might have better luck in 6-12 months. On the other hand, if you overpay for a used van or reefer now, you will likely get at least a good chunk of the difference back over the next six months in the form of higher spot market rates.
feldsforever and mwhjr1988 Thank this. -

Maybe there's an advantage in buying direct from a fleet at times like this, as they paid contract rates for their trailers years ago and want the inventory off the books. Or maybe they're just slow to react to the changing market and will be asking $48 in June.Last edited: Mar 14, 2021
