    hi,
i am relocating from UK to USA to do my CDL, probably at community college;I am hoping to be hired from there, however i have a big gap in my work record, having being a house wife forever.
Does anyone have any ideas how i can show a prospective employer that I have the know how to be a good worker, funnily enough in the UK ,being a housewife/mother is highly regarded as it incorporates so many life skills relevant in in work place! whether a big carrier will consider kids at school on time and promptly collected with dinner carefully orchestrated and served hot, a good indication of my time keeping and reliability is another matter!
I have six months before i make my move so i want to have everything planned as best i can,so I can hit the ground running,so all ideas will be gratefully considered.

just go to school and learn and get your license. as far as your past "work record", just say what you were a "former housewife".

they may require some sort of letter stating this about you, from a lawyer or clergyman.

as far as references, maybe someone like a clergy that does know you???

you would be about as new to the work force as say an 18 year old. no references to speak of, no experience to speak of.

    not impossible, it'll be doable.

good luck to you, keep us informed.
