Looking at restarting my tractor trailer career. Been away for 2 years. I have only driven solo in four states, all in the midwest. I am looking at dedicated runs, but have no mountain driving experience. Any ideas were to look? Currently driving straight truck.![]()

I was out of a truck for 7 years. I looked into the refresher courses and getting back that way also. Not going to knock it for anyone who wants to go that way.
What I did I got hired on to a smaller company and did fine. Only difference I noticed is the log book. I had no problems since I been back out. Where you have a work history, I did not which made it even harder for my self and I could not see paying for a refresher and still have to go the route I did take.wheelman357 Thanks this. -
Coastie.. Did the company make you start at the bottom of the pay scale even though you had prior experience?

i went to a Roadmaster school, because i let so much time elaspe after getting my license i had to retake the refresher course thru them as well. it cost 600.oo to me above what i paid for the intial training.

I have been with a few since I been back out, Yet I been with 4, I only quit one. All started me at what they paid. No scale. I did not go with any of the big Companies mostly 1 to 7 trucks outfits. Now I have stepped up to one of the larger companies, and yes, I am getting paid for 6 months experience but now have 4.5 years experiences. They do not reconized the 4 years since it was before my break
