Does anyone know of any companies who offer refresher training for people who still have their CDL' s but have not driven for at least 12 months? Any comments and sugestions will be greatly appreciated.

I know several that used to. SRT, CFI, and others.

But this late in the game, I'd bet they no longer offer it. Without going into much detail, I would venture a guess that most would require a full on training course. But you might get lucky, try submitting a few apps.

All this would be based on how much actual experience you had prior to leaving, and your reasons for leaving.

I think but im not absolutely sure that almost any of the driving schools will offer you a refresher for a nominal fee, youll probably find the best rate at a technical school that has a truck driver training program.

PAM trucking may still do it. I know they used to show it on their website. Now they only talk about getting CDL's for people who have never had one. CRST used to also, but it isn't shown on their website either. Simple fact is these companies can make more money on someone with no experience than with someone who they don't need to hardly spend a dime on. They could get potentially thousands of dollars out of one student than a driver who may cost nothing to refresh.

You can try to call some of the companies, maybe your best bet is to go to a refresher course offered by an outside trucking school. TRY AND GET THE LONGEST REFRESHER COURSE WITH THE MOST HOURS IN IT YOU CAN! I know most refresher courses are 40 hours but some companies want more. I know TransAm trucking wants 60 hours!
