OK, moved 6 skids of steel for a company that had me ship them from VA to NC. My BOL had 8, but the shipper only put 6 on. Now the company is refusing to pay because of 2 short.

Its allways a good idea to count and have b.o.l. changed to whats on truck, or you may have a claim on the insur. for O S D on your cargo insur.
-
.....why did it ship with a BOL saying something other than what was shipped?
Dominick253 Thanks this. -
baha Thanks this.

If you call shipper they can resend a B O L to your E/mail with correct count on it and you can resend it to be paid?

Never leave the shipper with a bol that doesn't match what's on the truck.
It's a legal document, read before you sign.Oscar the KW, TBonze, dog-c and 2 others Thank this. -

If the broker told you 8 pallets, or sent you a BOL having 8 pallets, you should have called them when the shipper only loaded 6 pallets. I don't know how you fix the mess now but I run across this all the time with expedite - brokers telling me how many pallets and shippers with other ideas. Never leave until the broker ok's it.

You need a copy of b o l that shipper had when you loaded, then use the copy of one you del. on with 8 pc. an use sig. to turn in bol with 6 on it and get paid,
6wheeler Thanks this.
