I'm reaching out to all you professional owners with a question but first a little backdrop. I've been working in the logistics world for the last 20 years and I'm based in the Denver area. I recently had someone reach out to me asking for help. It's seems their supplier is based in Pomona CA. and they are struggling to get full loads shipped to them from Pomona CA, to Denver, CO. When I asked what reasons were given to them by their shipper, the response was a bit puzzling to say the least. The reason given to them, "there was no back haul from Denver to S. Cali". I understand Hub n Spoke, etc but I'm wondering if there is something else driving this result.
Can any professional owners out there give some feedback on this topic?

Me being a company driver my whole career, I take a stab.
I would say the load does not pay enough for all the bs that is California.
It is possible that the Denver back to CA part of the trip is a very light freight lane, I have never run in that area of the country. -

Thank you guys for your input. I understand the national avg. rates of van, flatbed, etc Say this load is a 40K lbs, van load, weekly to Denver. Would a 2.50/m pay rate be high, low, or an average rate?

I've been to Denver several times. Dispatchers always complained that there wasn't much for freight coming out of there.
Only stuff I ever got was insulated styrofoam panels.D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
Denver is black hole for the freight. Everything in nothing out.
