Just talked to a state tax rep. Idk what the cost of the valorum tax is for Georgia for registering a flatbed I purchased. I asked the guy but he said it is based off of the bill of sale. He didn't tell me anything else. Should I get it in Georgia or go to Maine like every else?

Maine... because it is a state friendly to truckers. No sales tax. Then pay $210 for 12 years... and some other fees for title and such. STAAB is a good company to handle everything.

Ok, I looked them up from an older thread. Looks like a good easy option.
I wonder what GA would charge though. Prop higher. -
Congrats on the trailer. Whad’ya get?

In 2000 I got in an arguement with the fine DMV folks in New Mexico over a trailer I bought, and finally told them I would just register it in Alaska. When Cathy ran the contract dmv at Tok, I could do it through the mail and 30 bucks for permanant tags.

2004 East flatbed, not much to brag about lol. Gotta start somewhere. -
Shotgun94 Thanks this.

I exempted the sales tax with my carrier's mc number on a form at least when making the purchase. idk what Georgia would want if I showed them the bill of sale.
