On a different note, it's amazing what you can get away with in michigan and Indiana. I seen a few guys with what looked like a pup....it was short.....like real short and was on 4 axles. Whole trailer couldn't have been more than 30ft...axles literally front to back. -
It’s an ok general freight trailer. I got what I felt was a pretty good price in the one I got before all this crazyness started. I don’t plan on owning it longer than 5 years though.
I came out of a big Bubba reitnhour (2006). I’d be hard pressed to buy another.cke, stwik, jamespmack and 9 others Thank this. -
I think the Extremes look good but looks alone don’t get the job done
I’ve heard they are like 2k lighter
If that’s true. It seems you’re reducing weight somewhere and then you’re going to be able to add that 2k back on the deck with freight
I’ve never compared them on the weight thing. Again just conversations with other drivers
Maybe that 2k weight reduction is a general trailer and not one spec’d exactly the same as a Mac or Reitnouer??Speed_Drums and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
The only other trailer I was seriously looking at was Mac. A Mac with similar spec was almost $30k more than this extreme. So I was really comparing the trailer I purchased against a 53’ Mac road warrior with fixed set forward spread steel inside wheels no extras.
Instead I got SRA, aluminum 5th wheel plate, aluminum air tank, aluminum landing gear, all Alcoa aluminum wheels, enclosed rear, rear axle dump, galvanized winches both sides, tie bar both sides, 14” instead of 18” cross members and a few other things.
My plan was and still is to replace my trailer every 4 or 5 years with a new one. I felt like I got a lot of value with this trailer. I have no concerns of it still being a good trailer for resale in 5 years.
I looked at lots of trailers in my over 1 year quest of buying a new trailer. The ultimate decision was when I seen the prices start to creep up. Glad I bought when I did. If I was hauling only steel or only field tile I would of bought different trailers but I think this is a perfectly fine trailer for general freight. I have hauled a few concentrated loads and it’s done just fine.
PS I come from a company with a fleet of maximisers. I don’t feel this trailer is in any way inferior to them.Last edited: Dec 3, 2021
