It wasn't a trucking school scandal. It was workers from the Sec of State license facilities that were taking money in exchange for giving people CDL's who hadn't passed a test. There was an equipment failure on a CMV driven by someone who paid for a license that killed 6 children in one family. I'll be back with a link.

Wasn't the dad a preacher? Elendil isn't Lucky out of Streator? To the OP I think it depends on what part of IL you live in. I see Roehl trucks all the time up by me, heck I even see Roehl skateboards on occasion.

Mattu, talk to Prime, they'll take you but make sure you're totally clean. Illinois is considered a 'nuisance state" because, to possess an IL CDL, you must take your road test portion *in* Illinois. This isn't a problem for Prime, as they just go over the border into East St. Louis for your Road Test portion. Oh, and an IL CDL can drive anywhere.

Roehl hires out of IL but you have to have your CDL already. Like the others posted IL requires you test in IL and for Roehl you go to school in WI and get a WI CDL and then go home and transfer it.

Makes me wonder why Roehl doesn't emulate Prime in border-jumping...

Its very easy for Prime to get a load going to/through Illinois so a trainee can transfer their CDL over.

Prime is not a place for young drivers. But they are. Better be good. Real good wages, real nice trucks. Long hours, loved to run with them drivers. Those are Real Truckers!
