OK...short version of story, pic up load of Fancy Bottled Water (Pure Coconut Water) in CT. to deliver in Sarasota FL. (UNFI)... Broker paperwork says 33* to 39* temp. (CHR) Shippers BOL says nothing about temp. Nothing !...we set refer at 39* ..4 A.M delivery in FL, arrive at 3:30 ck in with Guard, and go see office person. Girl behind glass says open doors and hit dock 24, ..hour goes by and nothing, its 80* outside but hey...they know what there doing, besides....the Bills say nothing about Temp. 2 hrs later guy come's up and says load in being rejected due to temp increase to 42.7*... why do we have doors open...we were supposed to wait until they told us to open them...we explain that girl behind glass told us to open them...she says "no way, I never said that" WTF !....turns out Bottle Water is super sensitive and is spoiled over 41* (really ?) Now (2 days later) they want us to pay for load (48K) and (get this),, pay UNFI to unload and dispose of product. am biting tongue not wanting to ruin relationship with Broker....but WTF....feel like I was thrown under the bus here....any thoughts are greatly appreciated

No doubt they did throw you under the bus, but you can trust no one when dealing with temp sensitive stuff.

The lesson here is cyoa (cover your own ###). Keep paperwork and anything else you could use to verify you did the job correctly. Then when they try and throw you under the bus you can tell them to get ######!
