A Friggan hack Distributing Company , SFF in Meridian CT. no drivers on dock, we pull out and notice damaged cases when applying Load Locks, pull back in, ask them to replace... they cry like Babies but do it, they hand us one copy of Bills and Plastic Seal, which is kinda funny since UNFI made such a big fuss because we broke seal....Hell, we put it on. .update in regards to Product, spoke to Rep. from Manufacturing Company in SF yesterday. She says...."How could they sell a Refrigerated Drink that spoils at 43*, the customer would have to be able to get it from the Super Market shelf to their car, then home without a slight rise in Temp. Even Milk is good to 47* " Once again this is a case were the Carrier takes the rap for a combination of mistakes made by others. And in the end, everyone is going to get paid....EXCEPT US

If the final of the story is u are not going to get paid but they let go the 48K claim put it in the lost revenue column even if it sucks!!!

But the moral would be if you ever deal with the broker/agent and the shipper cover your a....from A to Z, i do temp sensitive stuff everyday and i do NOT let anyone go inside my reefer without me.

Throughout the years i had some customers telling no you can't our politics does not allowed drivers on dock.......well my politic is i am the one signing the bol then i am responsible for this then i will be on the dock counting and seeing everything all the time no matter what!

I have heard the we will call your boss/shipper/broker do as you want nobody will bother me because i am doing my job the right way, i always ask them would you sign something without being totally sure what u are signing for.

A reefer download would probably prove this. 20 tons of product won't suddenly warm up 3.7º (or more) in two hours, even with the doors open on the dock.

Good luck with getting them to accept via the manufacturer's input about product spoilage. If the reefer download validates a 39º setting, especially on cycle where the temp will float between 39º and 45º, OP is gonna buy this one. OP just didn't follow directions. The broker's temp specification was product temp to be maintained, not just a suggested range of where to set the reefer. I hope he either gets them to accept the product or get a good price selling the load. Reefer breakdown and cargo insurance won't cover a claim when the unit was operating properly but wasn't set properly to maintain the specified range.

I don't get why you set your reefer temp at the high end of the range? If you'd have run it in the middle of the range, goodbye whole issue? Am I missing something here?

No So Fast: The behaviour of Listeria monocytogenes in the fresh coconut water stored at 4 °C (39 degrees Fahrenheit), 10 °C and 35 °C was studied. ... The study shows that L. monocytogenes growth in fresh green coconut water is controlled for several days by storage at low temperature, mainly at 4 °C. =39 degrees Fahrenheit

The Product you wrote about is not clear: Was this raw coconut water or was it pasteurized; if, the accurate product description is not available, name the shipper, purpose to id what type of operational control exists @ their plant.
