Ok, so what happens when you get to the recevor and something is wrong and he doesn't want it.
I've read some broker packets that say truck driver has to pay for storage.

Cargo insurance may cover the storage. Mine covers the storage costs, the unloading costs and the pay I was suppose to get for delivering. I pull a flatbed so it may be different for refer or other products.

6 wheeler,
Like skate-board says, That's what your insurance is for
The reason for the rejected product may or may not be your fault, That's NOT your job to know that,Thats why you have insurance..
The insurance will Subregate the situation on your behalf with the other party(s) involved..
Keep in mind, A freight Claim, reconsignment,or other matters are 1 thing, YOUR transportation charges are another.
Most Broker packets are drawn up only to benefit them,And make you (carrier) responsible for everything and anything.....Don't let the broker make you 'feel' guilty, You have Rights through insurance..And your freight Bill will be paid regardless of who is at fault for the claim/refusal -
A lot depends on why the load was rejected. I have had loads rejected because it contained the wrong product, in which case the shipper had another buyer near by and I just redirected to that location. I had a load rejected because of freshness issues, again, I was redirected to a different customer. If the issue is damages or late delivery caused by you...then your insurance will have to get involved to dispose of the load and pay everybody for their losses.

Why would any body want to be O/O, Carrier? Lets all be brokers and blame everything on carrier

Glass Half Empty Approach: Seal was broke prior to arrival & rcvr rejected the load, due to seal not intact upon arrival. Insurance policy will carry Cargo Valuation Limits & deductibles...O/O will pay the difference. Increased Fuel Costs to next stop. Lastly, Lost opportunity when searching for freight due to increased lost time by load. Model in Stupidity!
