So, I have a relay to pick up in Dallas. It was at the yard in Laredo, and had to be checked there for road readiness. It was apparently good enough to leave there.
It bypassed the Dallas OC where it should have went if it had problems, but dropped at the atomic drop yard in Dallas.
No idea what is wrong with it, been on hold for almost an hour, including calls being dropped after sitting on hold forever.
If this was placed OOS for a stupid reason, are we able to still pull them, or is the trailer down until a mechanic checks it out?
Honestly don't think I have ever picked up a relay with an OOS defect.
Taking this load home to deliver on a Tuesday, gonna suck if it can't go because everything is taken at this point in the Dallas area.
Might be looking at a 350 mile deadhead home....
Relay with OOS defects....

Thank you for that totally useless replyCledus Snow, Thull, 88 Alpha and 3 others Thank this.

you're very welcomeGetsinyourblood, spyder7723 and gentleroger Thank this.

Check the inspection dates within 30 days I believe the system puts automatic OOS to force it by a shop.
If you pre trip it and can't find why it's OOS I'd roll with it. As long as it passes pre trip.Friday Thanks this. -
My guess is it was cleared in Laredo but the system wasn't updated. If it came from the yard and not a freight forwarder.

Driver dropped it and put it OOS it seems. Level 9 brake repair, whatever that means.
So, once I get my local load loaded and dropped, heading over to the atomic drop lot and seeing what's up with it. Nothing else to do here in Dallas at this point, so either dragging that trailer home with me, or deadheading. Be home tonight one way or the other, lol.
Just pisses me off that it would be taken out of a OC, bypass another OC, and dropped at a drop lot with mechanical problems. People need to use their heads, this could have easily been routed to the Dallas OC, and if the brakes are truly messed up, it never should have left Laredo.ExOTR, Friday, drvrtech77 and 2 others Thank this. -
Sni should've never opened the gate which leads me to believe it wasn't at the OC. But you never know

You're assuming Dallas would actually fix the problem if it was at the OC. I've never had any work done at that facility because every time I've requested work to be done on my truck they'd say they can't even look at it for 3 to 4 days. They're probably worse than even Atlanta.

To be fair the driver may have only noticed it as he did the post trip.
I've had trailers pass the pti but when I get to the drop point I've developed a leak.
