Verizon. It's probably the cheapest complete package as well.

Yes, at one point and another. But not lately. And, every carrier is boasting of the best something or other these days.

Net10 / Tracfone / StraightTalk (same parent company) lease signals from ATT, Verizon, and T-Mobile. In other words you could be on a Verizon lane for a while and then into a Sprint lane for a while, etc. It depends on whose towers they are leasing in that lane. And it depends on whether your phone is a CDMA or a GSM version.

I suspect that since you are having an issue on that section of I-40 that they may be leasing from Sprint there because Sprint has the weakest coverage in that lane.

To know this scientifically (verses speculations) go here: http://opensignal.com/?z=7&minLat=31.83&maxLat=37.25&minLng=-113.74&maxLng=-101.66&s=all&t=4-2-3

I've already got it pre-set for CA border through AZ and NM. Switch between providers by clicking "Network" at the top and change to any of the big ones. They don't show specifically the companies that don't actually own any towers.

Then zoom IN and drag the map left to right along I-40. Do that with different carriers. Green = good, Red is weak, and no color = signal loss. If you do that trick between the big 4 you will see that overall in that particular lane from CA to TX that it goes Verizon / T-Mobile / ATT / Sprint from solid-to-spotty. Look for areas that have red sections and then zoom in on those areas and toggle between providers.

    @Dieselboss

That map isn't exactly accurate. One area i can say, Rawlins, WY to Casper, WY. Had no coverage with my note2. The map shows partial coverage. My s6 had almost complete signal on that road.

The Open Signal site depends on data being fed from mobile users who have installed their free app. So it comes from a sampling of the users. However it is a very LARGE sampling at this point in 2016 because it is a very popular app with over 10 million installs on Android alone. I have been watching it for several years as the signal question is one of THE most common that we get. What you can get from it at this point is a very accurate (but nothing is "perfect") view of carrier verses carrier comparison in the lanes. I do not know of a more accurate database as the actual carriers themselves lie. If anyone knows of a more accurate online view then please mention it. But for now, OpenSignal is the best free resource that we know of.

BTW, what carrier were you referring to on the Note and the S6?

    Save your breath.

I know exactly how Open Signal works. Its based on actual phones in service on each network. I never actually looked to see how each carriers signals compared. I feel vindicated looking at it now. :)

His agenda is to dispute anything positive about Verizon. He loathes Verizon with a fervent tenacity.

I've been subject to his rants for a while now. You can not,.. will not,.. convince him that there is anything better than his beloved Sprint.

Never mind the fact that Verizon is the largest carrier with the largest service area.

    Talking about you,.. not me.

Verizon gave you trojans? Then you should have a pretty good lawsuit.

Personally I dont think you know a software trojan from the prophylactic kind. In order for you to be infected with a trojan you would have had to downloaded and then executed a piece of software that was either infected with one or a direct malware install. In either case,.. a trojan is nothing but a back door. Between Wi-Fi, Blutooth and GPS,.. there are a dozen different ways to snoop into your phone and backdoor it with out the need for a trojan. You probably have a dozen people a week going through your phone and you will never know.

Just face facts. Verizon has the best service coverage area. Better than Sprint,.. better than,. well,.. all of them. How many times must you beat your Sprint is getting better chest?

Well, it could either be a trojan, it could be a virus, it could be a spammer. Or maybe some new thing you've never heard of. But as for others using my phone.

    SORRY ABOUT YOUR LUCK.

I've had the problem ever since i joined verizon. And contrary to YOUR popular beleif. I know more then you'd like to beleive yourself in to thinking. But that's a nice idea you stuck in your head. Believing i let people play with all 5 of my phones i've had with verizon.
